Waldorf School of Orange County, Costa Mesa California

The high school includes classrooms, science lab, auditorium, art room, administrative building, canteen, student and public bathrooms.  All the buildings are built using  8’ x 9.5 x 40’ recycled steel shipping containers. All the building have a fully finished exterior and interior. The use of ISO steel containers allowed the buildings to be constructed off-site and delivered 90% finished. The savings in time was about nine months and the savings in cost was 50% less than the cost of comparable school buildings in Southern California.  All the buildings are in compliance with the California Seismic Design Code. The entire campus of buildings can be disassembled and relocated to another site. The project is carbon free and sustainable architecture.
